Your Local Dealer/Distributor for the Santa Calrita Valley and surrounding areas for Watson Mc Daniel Steam Traps, Condensate
Pumps, Safety Valves Regulators and Specialty Steam Products
Skid Mounted Packages
Watson McDaniel Skid Mounted Pump Systems provide the user with a package consisting of the pump(s), receiver tank, check valves, and block valves completely assembled and ready for use. The installation requires only a single inlet connection, one outlet connection, vent connection, and the motive pressure connection. Available with either ductile iron or steel pumps, the standard skids can be furnished in a variety of configurations with one to four pumps. Receiver tanks are sized to match the number of pumps installed and are available for vented or pressurized applications. We have full Factory Support along with Local Engineering, Support and Service.
Thermodynamic steam traps, generically referred to as disc traps, utilize the energy in hot, flashing, condensate to snap the trap closed and prevent the loss of live steam. With only one moving part, this type of trap is very rugged. Water hammer resistant and able to withstand superheated steam service, these traps are commonly found on steam main drip and steam tracing applications.
Float and thermostatic steam traps are commonly used on process applications where they function to drain condensate from a heat exchanger. These types of traps respond quickly to changing loads, and they have a quiet, modulating action. Rising water level inside the trap causes the float to rise. This pulls the valve plug away from the seat, opening the valve. After the condensate has been drained away, the float falls and valve plug is guided into the seat to close the valve. An integral thermostat functions to vent air and other non-condensable gases from the system.
Watson McDaniel manufactures a variety of products for fluid control applications. Some of our products don't fit neatly into one of our main categories, so we gather them together and call them specialty products. In this section you will find products to:

Series WSEP Separators to remove entrained water from steam
Many systems have the need for liquids to be drained from gas systems. The most typical application would be draining water from compressed air tanks. Ambient water vapor gets compressed along with air as it passes through an air compressor, but as the pressure of air rises its ability to hold moisture decreases. This results in liquid water literally being squeezed out of the compressed air. This water collects in low spots in compressed air piping system. Water also gets carried along with the compressed air through the piping as it travels to air tools and paint booths. Because water is corrosive to most air piping systems, and because water can damage air tools, air cylinders and other equipment, draining water from air compressor tanks is a constant requirement. Since steam traps perform a similar function draining condensate from steam systems, they are commonly used, with slight modifications, as liquid drain traps.
Pilot-Operated Pressure Regulating Valve
Pilot-Operated Regulating valves are higher in capacity and more accurate than standard self-operated regulating valves. Pilot-Operated Regulators will maintain constant set outlet pressure even when inlet pressure fluctuations or variations in flow occur. With the proper selection of pilots, these regulators will accurately control temperature, pressure, or a combination of both.
Series "R" Relief and Back Pressure Regulating Valves
The "R" Series is an economically-priced Back Pressure Relief Valve for Liquid service. Relief Valves protect systems from over-pressurized conditions.
